Hey everyone!

 At first, welcome to my blog.

 OK. In the beginning,

The word open source can be defined like this. In the world of ICT, applications and software programs do a special part. But these applications and programs are developed by the developers for various purposes. Many of these applications are developed for commercial purposes while many of them are free to obtain and even free to modify. And these type of software are called Open source software.

 But my task is to define the topic of this blog.

What Open source means to you?

To be honest. It means  a lot to me. And but with or without your knowledge it means a lot to you too.

We can't even imagine a ICT based world like this without open source. Open source means mainly the contribution of the people. And the people who contribute to this open source projects, doesn't receive any salary or any kind of payment from the respective organizations. Organizations (Eg FOSSASIA, GOOGLE).
 They just contribute to those projects for non profit intentions like providing better applications for the end users, to keep the quality of the certain software project etc.

As we know, Many open source projects are active right now and many users and developers receive its benefits. Many open source projects and applications have been able to increase the number of users who are using them by providing better interfaces and better facilities because of the wide variety of developers who are willing to contribute in fixing the bugs and customizing the original applications using SDKs. (Software development kits that usually provided with the open source application )

And talking about open source the open source operating systems cannot be forgotten. As a regular smartphone user, I prefer the android operating system  since its large number of developers, testers and app developers etc. Android (in collaboration with Google) is the widely spread mobile operating system used in most of the smartphones except some companies use their own operating systems which are propitiatory operating systems.

There are thousands of open source operating systems such as Linux based operating systems, Android (also a Linux based OS) etc and many users and developers are using and developing, modifying and making the operating systems better, more attractive and well functioning.

And  in the end, Open source means a lot to me, to all of us. Every free operating system or free application or an service is most probably a result of a well managed and well done open source project. And we should be grateful to everyone who are willing to contribute for those projects which allows users (us) to have a better experiences with the final outcome.  And we should know that almost every open source projects are run by non profitable organizations, If we can help those organizations or peoples however we can, its a great service to them and the E-world too. This help can be a thing like detecting a minor bug and report it to its developers. That means a lot to them.


 

We should be very grateful for all the organizations who carry out open source projects to create a better experience for the users and for the well being of the community.

Today I would like to tell you about some ways that how you can connect to an open source software project or start your own.

This post is about the basic open source software fundamentals that will help you to start your project.

To start a software project of your own,
You need to have..

1.  An effective project idea.
2. Fair knowledge about what you can do.
3. Few others who are willing to help you.

Main part of the open source projects are the developed applications. For that you have to have a little knowledge about some programming languages. (Mainly C, C++, Python ..will do)

You have to select an open source supportive IDE (Integrated development environment ) and start designing. You must have a clear idea about what you going to do. What will you create. You have to create goals about your project and try to achieve them. You can Code, Design the picture in your mind in order to complete your project.

I'm going to tell you about some ongoing awesome open source projects that will surely get your attentions. These projects are handled by many popular open source organizations like Fossasia, Google Mozilla etc.

So I will put down some links to those projects and you can check them out. All those open source projects are non profitable and mainly done to uphold the open source community and its members.
